Getting started
A walkthrough for going live for the first time.
1. Sign up
When you create an account, you automatically get a permanent stream and stream key. There's nothing to register separately.
2. Find your stream key
Open your channel settings. The ingest server URL and your stream key are listed there. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it can stream as you. You can rotate the key from the same screen if it leaks.
3. Configure your streaming software
In OBS (or similar), set the streaming service to Custom and enter:
- Server:
rtmp://ingest.kuldron.com/live - Stream key: paste from your channel settings
Recommended encoding settings:
- Video codec: H.264 (any hardware/software encoder — NVENC, Apple VT, x264, QuickSync) or AV1 (NVENC AV1, AMF AV1, or SVT-AV1) — see Supported codecs below
- Bitrate: 6–12 Mbps for 1080p; up to 50 Mbps for 4K
- Keyframe interval: 2 seconds
- Profile: high
4. Press Start
In your dashboard, press Start. Kuldron provisions a streaming server for you (typically 45 to 55 seconds). Your wallet is debited from the moment you press Start, including provisioning time.
When the dashboard says Ready, click Start Streaming in your streaming software.
You need at least 1 hour of wallet balance to start. See Rates.
5. Going live
Once your software is sending video, your status flips to Live.
6. Ending a stream
Click Stop in your dashboard, or stop streaming in your software. Either way, the broadcast finalizes and a VOD is created on your channel.
Supported codecs
Video: H.264 (AVC) or AV1. Audio: AAC. HEVC (H.265) is not supported — if your encoder is set to HEVC, the stream will disconnect immediately after connecting.
