Search

NewSearch covers forum posts and comments, public chat rooms and messages, and your own conversations. Open it from the navigation bar or with CtrlK and use the Forums and Chats toggles beside the other result types. Content results show their date and time, and a comment is marked apart from a post.

NewMessages has its own search field. It matches conversation names and older message content, and each match shows a dated snippet.

ImprovedResult rows carry the icon of their type and the author's profile picture.

Forum posts and comments

NewA forum post can carry a featured link. Paste a link into the composer, keep or edit the suggested title, and publish. Commentary is optional, and the link can be the whole post. In feeds the title opens the discussion and the card opens the linked page. A link in the body stays an ordinary link until you feature it.

NewComments, replies and edits have a live preview, and numbered lists keep the numbers you typed. Posts, comments, replies and edits share the emoji and emote picker beside the media button.

ImprovedA new post, crosspost or comment starts with its author's upvote, which can be cleared or reversed like any other vote.

Topics and Decks

NewOpening a topic shows a topic deck: the topic's forum posts and Yaps ranked together in one feed, its chat room, and the channels live in it. Posts and Yaps open inside the deck panel, and a modified or middle click still opens the full page. The header carries Follow, New post and New Yap, and the Yap composer starts with the topic's hashtag.

ImprovedOn a phone, a Deck shows one panel at a time. Swipe between panels or tap the dots above them; each panel keeps its reading position, and a chat panel keeps its composer in view while you scroll. Forum posts in a deck feed take votes in place.

Chat, Yaps and emotes

NewEmote shortcodes work in chat, Yaps, forum posts and comments, and direct messages. Type a colon to see suggestions drawn from your emotes and standard emoji together, or type a full shortcode such as :100: and the closing colon completes it.

ImprovedInline emoji and emotes render larger, in proportion to the text around them, in chat, direct messages, Yaps, forum posts and titles, profiles and statuses.

ImprovedEvery emoji picker shares one layout: a category strip with Kuldron emotes first, a search field and a results grid, whether you are choosing a reaction, a profile picture or something to type.

ImprovedOn a keyboard, Enter sends a chat message, thread reply or direct message and ShiftEnter starts a new line. On a touch screen, Enter starts a new line and the send button sends.

ImprovedEach room and thread keeps its own unsent draft while you move around, and the composer accepts typing while a room is still loading. Suggestions after @ and # follow the whole word around the cursor.

ImprovedOpening a Yap reply places that reply at the top with its ancestors in one connected chain above it. Quoted Yaps show as a compact preview with the author's picture, name, handle and time.

ImprovedThe count of people in a room is the same in the directory, in search results and in every open panel.

FixedRoom message counts and unread marks reflect only the messages that still exist.

Channels and live playback

NewIn Studio, a broadcast can be given a primary topic and up to two additional topics. The primary topic places the channel in that topic's live category, and Watch lists live channels by topic.

ImprovedLive playback joins at the live edge with a short buffer in hand, catches up at a steady pace when it falls behind, and keeps what it has buffered when you change quality. Auto quality can select the creator's original rendition when the browser confirms it can decode it smoothly.

FixedEvery live quality starts with audio and video together.

FixedThe creator's listen-along player keeps playing for the length of the session.

Account and sign-in

ImprovedContinue with Google and Continue with Apple return you to the page you asked for after signing in.

ImprovedOn a phone, the Security page lists sessions as compact device rows, marks the current device, and offers section navigation. Encryption setup links from a conversation go straight to the encryption section.

ImprovedIn a conversation, the Call control stays available before encryption is set up and opens an explanation with a link to Security. A call still starts only once encryption is ready.

ImprovedApproving a new device walks through one transfer step at a time, names the trusted devices you already have, and offers a fresh start when a request code has expired.
