Reactions and engagement

NewReaction Charts collect the Yaps and forum discussions people are reacting to into daily top tens. Overall and reaction-specific charts can be viewed for Yaps or forums, with a live order for the current UTC day and the final order for earlier days. The charts show placement, never reaction totals.

ImprovedEach person can leave one reaction on a Yap, forum post or forum comment, and choosing another replaces it. The reaction row shows who reacted rather than turning responses into a public score.

NewAuthors can open a Yap's engagement to browse its replies, quotes, reposts, reactions and likes. The same view keeps the Yap's daily chart history, and a notification links an author to the final placements for content that reached a chart.

Conversations and discussion

ImprovedChat and Messages share one conversation directory. The selector at the top moves between topic rooms and direct conversations while preserving their existing links, and selecting a topic opens its room with the composer ready.

NewA reply in topic chat can open as a side thread. The room can carry a compact summary of that reply back into the main conversation, so a focused exchange can remain connected to the room around it.

ImprovedForum replies can be followed five levels deep. Connected reply rails, profile pictures and keyboard movement make the shape of a discussion visible while long branches remain pageable.

Images and motion

NewAnimated images have Play or Pause and Collapse or Expand controls wherever they appear. The Accessibility page also sets whether animated images begin playing automatically on that device.

ImprovedImages and animated previews keep their natural proportions while loading and across repeat visits. Galleries use the width of the media they contain, and a loaded image hugs its frame instead of leaving letterboxed space.

Navigation and notifications

NewNotification settings can turn on and test a short sound for new in-app notifications on the current device. Do Not Disturb and the browser's device controls continue to decide when a notification should interrupt you.

ImprovedYap and forum creation controls sit in their page headers, close to the feeds they act on. The W shortcut changes a Yap or forum feed's width, and T changes theme. G followed by C, Y or F opens Chat, Yaps or Forums.

FixedReturning from a Yap restores the place you were reading, while recently visited Yap timelines and conversations remain visible as fresh information is checked.
