Messages and chat
NewA message can be taken back. For an hour after sending it, the author can delete their own message in topic chat, in a direct conversation, and in a channel's chat. The command sits with the message's other actions and asks for confirmation first.
What is left in its place is a note that the message was deleted. Anyone who replied keeps their reply, and the reply keeps its position in the conversation, so a thread that was built on the message still reads. The quoted excerpt a reply carries is cleared along with the message itself.
ImprovedA deleted message that nothing replies to leaves the conversation entirely. The note stays only where it is holding a thread together, and when the last reply to it is deleted the note goes as well.
ImprovedAn encrypted conversation is ready as soon as the devices that can join have joined. One of your devices that is switched off at the time joins when it next comes back, and messages sent in between reach every device already there.
FixedTopic chat opens at the newest message and holds there while images finish sizing.
Topics and discussion
ImprovedA forum comment or Yap its author has removed appears in listings only while a reply still answers it. Its own link still opens the place it was, along with what it was replying to.
ImprovedChat finds a topic the way the rest of Kuldron does. One field searches the topic directory and turns an unmatched search into a start-a-chat action, and a room list with nothing in it opens that field rather than leaving you to find it. A room carries the same name and picture wherever it appears — in the header, in the directory and in search results.
NewWhile writing a post, the chosen topic says when nobody has posted there yet.
ImprovedOpening an image from a forum post or a gallery opens the whole set. Neighbouring images sit at the edges of the frame, and Previous and Next, the arrow keys, a swipe and a trackpad each move between them.
ImprovedOn the Topics map, a circle keeps its highlight while the pointer moves onto the label attached to it, and the topics unrelated to it dim to a weight that stays readable.
Profiles
ImprovedA public profile is organised by what its owner posts: Yaps, Posts, Media and Channels, each with its own tab. Yaps and Posts carry a filter for originals, replies, or both together, and a display choice of Compact, Standard or Expanded that applies to that profile alone.
NewThe Media tab collects the images from someone's Yaps and posts into one grid, filtered to either source or shown together. Replies a profile's owner has written in the forums are listed alongside their posts.
Appearance and reading
NewKuldron can be read in a typeface of your choosing. Accessibility offers a searchable list of Google Fonts, grouped by style, with a preview of each one and of the current selection before it is saved. The choice is kept in the browser it was made in, so each device can use what reads best on it, and a font that cannot be loaded falls back to a system typeface.
Kuldron's own typeface is now Quicksand, and it ships with the site. Until a font is chosen, nothing is loaded from Google.
ImprovedThe lists that open from a control are Kuldron's own, carry a search field where the list is long, and stay with their control while the page scrolls.
ImprovedThe text-size slider on the same page has a target sized for a fingertip.
Moving around
ImprovedOn a phone, the primary destinations sit in a bar along the bottom of the screen, within reach of a thumb, with the control that starts something new floating above it. Both slide out of the way as you read down a page and return as soon as you scroll back up, and both stay clear of the area the system reserves for its own gestures. Search has a row of its own across the top.
ImprovedLogging in from a page returns you to that page.
