Yap

NewA Yap is a short post: up to 300 characters of plain text, one to four images, or a quote of another Yap, with at least one of those. Images do not count against the text; each carries its own alt text and can come from a new upload or from your media library. Yaps gather into a short-form timeline at Yap, read two ways.

Latest is strict reverse chronology. Following narrows the same view to the people you follow and your own activity. New arrivals wait behind a New Yaps control rather than moving what you are reading, and replies stay inside their conversations and on their authors' profiles instead of appearing at the top level.

Every Yap — original, quote or reply — has its own link and the same set of actions: reply, quote, like, repost, react, bookmark and share. A quote carries its own text and images beside a live card for what it quotes. A repost points at the original, so undoing one removes only the repost itself.

Authors decide who may reply or quote: everyone, people they follow, people they mention, or nobody. A root author can hide a reply from the conversation without deleting it from its author's profile, and can detach a quote card without touching the other person's words. Muting a thread quiets its later reply and mention notifications and leaves the conversation readable.

Like and repost are single toggles. Reactions take one emoji or a Kuldron emote and sit alongside the Like heart. Bookmarks are private, with no public count and no notification to the author. A private person mute drops someone's originals and reposts from your timelines and stops their activity from notifying you, without telling them and without ending a follow. Topics and discussion

ImprovedTopic chat now works the way Messages does: a message shows its author's profile picture, takes replies and reactions, and can be edited by whoever wrote it. On a touch screen a long press opens a message's actions, and a room holding messages you have not seen shows a quiet dot that clears once they have been on screen. Chat itself uses the same left sidebar as the rest of Kuldron, with its topic list moved to a right rail that has search of its own.

ImprovedForum listings show the linked domain beneath a post's title, and the domain is itself a link to the destination; a link to a video playlist resolves to a preview with artwork. Listings, including Yap's, open as explicit pages that can be paged backwards as well as forwards, with infinite scrolling for people who prefer it.

NewWhile composing a post, an author can remove a link preview and put it back, and the choice is remembered for that post. The t key opens the topic chooser.

Messages and calls

NewConversations in Messages can carry an end-to-end encrypted voice call, one to one or in a group. Encryption is set up once per account from Security, and each further device is approved by scanning a QR code from a device you already trust. A conversation that is ready shows a control labelled E2EE in its header, with the call controls beside it.

An incoming call appears wherever you are in Kuldron, with Join and Decline, and an active call keeps a bar in view while you move around. If the call is already running on another of your devices, the control on this one reads Move here. Microphone and speaker can be chosen during the call, and on an iPhone the audio continues while the browser is in the background or the screen is locked.

The E2EE panel shows a safety number for each other participant. Comparing those numbers with the person in front of you, or in some other way you trust, is an optional identity check that does not change the call's encryption either way.

ImprovedA message with several images lays them out in a horizontal rail, and a lone image takes the full width of the column. Choosing to edit a message scrolls it into view and marks it while you work.

FixedImages draw at their delivered size, and a message you have just sent stays in view.

Images and media

ImprovedEvery composer opens the same media picker from one button. It holds your media library, and in chat Kuldron emotes and standard emoji as well; each source has its own search, and the images you have already chosen stay in view while you pick the next. The media library itself gained search, shows each item's file type, and lets its owner rename items.

NewThe picker also searches GIFs, and a chosen GIF drops in beside your other images wherever you are writing.

NewPost, message and Yap images are served in high dynamic range where an HDR version exists, and so are the previews Kuldron generates for links back to its own content. Displays that cannot show the wider range receive the standard version.

ImprovedContent labels read as a colour mark and the word itself, under the post title; a post with several labels lists each in a fixed order. Where content is veiled, the veil covers the media and leaves the title readable — one treatment across feeds, media pages and Yap.

NewProfile pictures and banners carry content labels on the same terms as any other image, and are veiled the same way.

Profiles

NewA public profile's follower and following counts open as lists, and the profile carries a mark for the account's age: its position in signup order or the month it joined, at the owner's choice, or hidden altogether.

ImprovedThe username sits beneath the display name, and unfollowing or unfriending someone from their profile asks for confirmation first.

Watching and creating

NewA scheduled premiere can be edited after it is scheduled, with its times shown in your own time zone, and a video that failed to process can be retried from the copy Kuldron kept without uploading it again.

FixedA channel's badge counts the people watching the stream; chat's own occupancy shows inside chat. When a premiere finishes, its channel returns to the ordinary offline page.

ImprovedVideo listings across the site use one thumbnail card, and a channel's videos are sized and labelled to match.

Moving around

NewOn a touch screen, an edge swipe goes back from a Yap or a forum post.

ImprovedA listing you return to keeps the position and content you left it with. Account settings are grouped into collapsible sections; Messages, Growth and Patronage have their own entries in navigation; and an action that needs confirming asks in a Kuldron dialog.

ImprovedWhen a request limit is reached, Kuldron says how long the wait is and links to your limits, where the tier and ceilings that apply to you are listed.

Growth

ImprovedEach card on the public Growth page explains what its metric counts and shows the direction of the latest day. Yaps and Yap replies are included in the daily figures and in the data table.
