Topics

A topic now has one address. /t/<slug> serves the whole topic — posts, its live chat rail, the picker sidebar, and a header with the topic picture, follow button, and stats. The older per-topic browse and k/ URLs are gone. Signed-in visitors landing on the root are taken to a topic.

The navigation matches: Forums is now Topics, Videos is now Watch. A topic label reads as the bare slug everywhere, including crosspost lines.

Posts and comments

Post titles are real links, so a post is right-clickable, shareable, and opens on its own page. Comment timestamps are permalinks to that comment, which renders with its ancestor chain and a page of replies.

Public post pages and their discussions render on the server, so a shared link shows the post and comments on arrival rather than a loading skeleton.

Action rows on posts and comments now lead with the vote and carry glyphs for reply, report, crosspost, share, tags, moderate, and delete. Below 1280px they collapse to icons with tooltips. Share copies the canonical link. Report opens a dialog instead of expanding inline and pushing the thread down. Deleting your own post asks for confirmation first.

Timestamps show a compact relative age with the exact time on hover. The add-tag control reads "Tag" with an icon, community tags dropped the hashtag prefix, and tags you applied stay highlighted after a reload. With a tag filter active, a Tagged tab sorts the filtered posts by how many people applied that tag.

Deleted and removed posts

Deleting your own post no longer takes the page down with it. The post renders as a tombstone reading "This post was deleted by its author. The discussion below is kept," and the thread stays open for replies and votes. The title and body are erased from storage, not just hidden.

A post removed under a copyright claim behaves the same way and says so: "This post was removed in response to a copyright claim. The discussion below is kept."

Discovery

/browse is a topic map: a force-directed graph where each bubble is a topic, sized by follower count and recent daily views, and pulled toward topics that share followers with it. Bubbles open the topic.

The browse header has a search box that matches topics as you type and offers to start a new one; pressing Enter picks the top existing match rather than the create row. Topics also appear in the global command palette. Topic pictures render throughout those lists instead of the letter default.

Stats

Topic and channel headers show followers, views, visits, and authors with a leading icon per stat. Views count every open and visits count arrivals from off-site. The counts are identity-free: no cookie, no visitor id, and nothing that identifies who opened a page.

Followed channels in the sidebar show a live concurrent-viewer count.

Lenses

One lens now covers a whole topic — both its posts and its chat — instead of splitting into separate lenses per surface. The lens you wear on a topic carries across both.

An invited moderator sees the pending invite in the lens switcher and can accept or decline it there. Accepted moderators, not only the lens creator, can open the manage surface to lift suppressions, work the report queue, and read the activity log. The Moderate menu acts on the lens you are wearing rather than listing every lens you moderate.

Chat

Channel chat, topic chat, and VOD chat share one panel, so message rendering, stick-to-bottom behaviour, header height, and the composer are the same in all three. Topic and VOD chat gain the rich emote composer that channel chat had. On a topic, chat is a full-height right rail controlled by the navbar toggle.
